Meet the team

Jason Tomlinson, Owner and Director

Hi, I’m Jason and it’s my pleasure to welcome you to Home Instead Wakefield. Having spent almost ten years as a practising pharmacist I have met lots of older people in the community and it has saddened me to see and hear about the poor quality of care available to them. I personally enjoy the company of our senior citizens and learning about their experiences. It’s amazing to see the joy in their faces when you show genuine interest in them, and their past.

I was introduced to Home Instead when they came to visit my place of work. After doing some research and making some enquiries, I realised Home Instead is different from other home care providers. They hold the same values and high personal standards as I aspire to so it wasn’t long before I started to think about joining Home Instead and leaving my career as a pharmacist. I am dedicated to sourcing and employing the best quality CAREGivers so we can provide the best quality care for you.

Outside of Home Instead I enjoy travelling and have visited many countries as a backpacker before getting married. I continue to travel today with my wife and little boy, where we like to mix with local people and experience local food and cultures. I am also a Formula 1 fan and have had the privilege to visit four tracks around the world. We’re here to help with any queries so please feel free to get in touch on (01924 565330)

Gemma Fisher

Hi,

I’m Gemma Fisher, the Care Manger here at Home Instead Senior Care Wakefield. I am new to the Home Instead family. I have worked in care for around 10 years starting out as a young worker and working my way up to becoming a Care Manger. Working in care I have gained invaluable experiences supporting people who are sometimes going through difficult periods in their life, helping to spark a renewed sense of independence, offering a shoulder to lean on and someone to talk to. I enjoy the company of older people as they often have a lot of interesting history and personal experiences. I continued my studies whilst working to gain my care qualifications and recently gained my level 5 diploma in leadership, health and social care.

I decided to join Home Instead as they are committed to quality care and the client always comes first. I enjoy working closely with clients and families to ensure their care package is put together to fulfil their needs, at a time to suit them and finding the right CAREGiver to deliver quality care which they expect from Home Instead. I am fully committed to providing quality care at home with Home Instead and believe everyone has the right to stay in their own home for as long as possible; by offering our full support, flexibility and availability we can achieve this.
