About Home Instead Sutton, Surrey
Home Instead Senior Care, Sutton is owned by local man Tony Ward. His wife Myrna is a fellow Director and a Home Instead CAREGiver when not looking after their 16 year old son William. Tony has 3 older sons Simon, Matthew and Alistair as well as 4 grandchildren.
Tony was born in Carshalton and was educated at Wallington County Grammar School and remained in the Sutton area until the offer of a job in Hong Kong lured him away in 1994 for 3 years. A one year contractl in Japan followed and then a 9 year spell working for insurance giant AON in Botswana, Southern Africa.
Tony's mother Amy joined the familyin Botswana during 2003 at the age of 83 and stayed with them until they all came back to Sutton in 2007. Unfortunately after 6 months in England, Amy was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and 3 months later in February 2008 sadly passed away.
It was during her illness that Tony and Myrna first became aware of some of the limitations within Social Care in this country when she received some less than satisfactory care and attention while at home before being admitted to hospital for the final time.
When, after 25 years in the Life, Investment and Pensions industry, Tony wanted to start his own business, the opportunity to redress and improve the situation within the elderly care sector led him to the welcoming doors of Home Instead Senior Care.
Once having met Trevor Brocklebank, his team, as well as some other Home Instead Senior Care office owners, it was a very easy decision to join them to help improve care services at home for people in Sutton and the surrounding areas.
Tony, Myrna, and the whole team have really embraced the Home Instead Senior Care ethos of providing quality, personalised care to all their lovely clients, a fact recently acknowledged by care regulator The Care Quality Commission in their latest inspection. In addition to running an expanding business Tony is a volunteer Director of local charity Sutton Healthwatch and is also a committee member helping to set up the newly formed Dementia Action Alliance in Sutton.
The Sutton Surrey Home Instead Senior Care Office is part of a global network of more than 975 locally owned and operated offices.
The most important thing is you send the same carers which is vital to some people. Your carers always go above and beyond and I'm sure they really do care. It's lovely that A has been with us from the beginning and much appreciatedPH Wallington
