The St. Helens Team
Megan Hill- Business Administrator
My name is Megan and I first came to Home Instead in 2016 as a CAREGiver, in the autumn of 2016 i developed in to supporting the office base side of the business and became the Business Administrator. I have always had the drive and passion to support people in need and Home Instead in St Helen's gave me the chance to fulfil my ambition. I adore working for a company who truly believe in changing the face of aging in our community and am proud to be a part of it.
Our Fabulous CAREGivers
We have a fabulous team of CAREGivers who support our community in St Helen's. Their backgrounds vary from family carers to experienced nurses and everything between. They share their heart in everything they do; they build fantastic relationships with their clients and go above and beyond in every aspect of care. They strive to support independence, choice and quality of life.
Being a CAREGiver is a very special job and takes very special people. Their cheerful and professional attitude sets them apart, they are truly amazing SUPER HEROES.
"We don't do it for great praise or self-promotion- we don't do it for any other reason than WE CARE"
Together we are changing the face of aging in St Helens.
Chris Mawdsley – Care Coordinator
I first joined the team in May 2015 as a CAREGiver and have progressed throughout the company. I have worked up from CAREGiver through to Team Leader to Senior CAREGiver and now I am proud to be Home Instead St Helen’s Care Coordinator.
Prior to working for Home Instead I have worked within Age Uk and Merseyside Police. I came in to the CAREGiving role as I believe in making a difference to individuals lives that are in need. I strive for quality care and making each client’s life special and meaningful.
As Care Coordinator I take great pride in my work and have a great team behind me to deliver the highest quality care to all of our clients.
Ben Smith- Systems Manager
My previous career was mainly based within retail management in particular Holland and Barrett. In late 2016 I was given the opportunity to join the family business here in St Helens. My main role is to support and modernise the electronic systems within Home Instead in St Helens. I focus on constantly improving the way clients and their families receive information regarding their care. Modern technology is a great way to let clients and loved ones keep on top of the care they are receiving.
We are introducing new systems so that clients and their families can see schedules live and can monitor who is visiting and when. We firmly believe in making care for clients and their families easy to manage, it especially gives piece of mind to families who live far away.
Managing Director - Julia Smith
Having looked after my elderly relatives for many years I know from first-hand experience how stressful and emotional it can be looking after a loved one or having to rely on others for help in the tasks of daily living. Not being able to rely on consistent high quality care was my major concern and it meant that on leaving my job I became the main caregiver for my loved ones. I wanted be able to have confidence to know that my family were being looked after properly, with dignity and respect when I wasn't there.
I was attracted to Home Instead due to its firm belief in the independence of individuals and in the desire to provide the highest quality care to older people living in their own homes. Their ethos and values of promoting the independence, choice and quality of life for older people is simple but so refreshing and having consistent CAREGivers to enable a relationship of respect and trust to develop is essential.
My role in the business is to build relationships with local providers and organisations; look for opportunities for Home Instead to contribute to the local community, and to manage the business side of the operation.
I have developed, with my daughter, a family business with family values to enhance the lives of older people in St Helens and surrounding areas.
Charlotte Smith-Director of Care Services, Registered Manager
Myself and Julia, my mum, started Home Instead Senior Care St Helens in August 2012 and have loved every minute since. We have created an award winning business that supports our local community in the best possible way. I firmly believe in ensuring St Helens receives the best quality care and support possible from local individuals who want to make a difference to people in need.
We began Home Instead Senior Care St Helens based on our personal experience with the care sector. Unfortunately, my grandfather did not receive adequate care and support for his needs, this brought huge strain on our family and as well distress and frustration for him. Since experiencing the strain and stress I have a drive to make sure our CAREGivers deliver personal centre care of the clients choice, wishes and needs.
Our high quality CAREGiving team live and breath Home Instead's ethos and culture and encourage all of our clients to keep Independence, Choice and Quality of Life.
Here at Home Instead St Helens we all firmly believe in changing the face of ageing in our local community.
The care provided by Home Instead gives me peace of mind that my dad is safe and well cared for. The staff really care and their kindness is invaluable; they are almost members of our family.Miss H, Rainhill
