The group meets every Thursday in Paignton Library (1pm-3pm) and has come about through the shared vision of local volunteers and our local community library who have facilitated local stroke survivors in forming an award winning computer group. Success has come in the form of increased self-esteem, bring confidence and hope through peer support.
The aim of the group is to help stroke survivors learn new skills or to regain those lost, by using the computer whilst at the same time providing the benefits of regaining arm mobility, improved co-ordination and greater self-esteem. What it has done has been extraordinary. It has brought about a new confidence, a sense of comradeship through helping each other. Most of all is that the members feel they have something to offer and a place in their community. No experience is necessary and both experts and beginners are welcome.
My Mother-in-law (M-I-L) required extra care at home following a fall. Home Instead were caring and professional with their help ensuring the care plan was tailor-made but more importantly, matching care givers to my M-I-L's personality. This approach was so important and refreshing. Care was given for personal care and companionship. Home Instead always go the extra mile and this applies to the whole support team.Jackie C - Daughter in law of Client
