"I have recently been caring for our increasingly dependent 93yr old spinster aunt. Faced with our having to work and her deteriorating health we were found there were limited choice in care providers. Although we started out with the usual morning lunch, tea and evening calls this only met her physical needs. It made much more sense to use the Home instead Approach to end her social isolation and meet ALL her care and support needs. It may seem costly but the level of care and support is such that a person’s dignity and self worth increase not decrease and they are befriended, valued and provided with the highest level of care and companionship. No carer came who she had not been properly introduced to previously and they always left full notes on care provided and activities undertaken. We had initially opted for a mixed care approach with another provider doing the shorter visits through some of the day but were so impressed with the individual way services were provided by Home instead we were looking at increasing their involvement in a more imaginative way. We have four other elderly relatives whom we are sole carers for and when they begin to need any care our first call will be to Home Instead. I cannot praise their approach enough; they treat people as individual’s not just tasks to be completed. If you want someone who cares as much as you do meet this company I'm sure you'll be impressed. Although this may seem a more expensive option it is great value for money and I cannot praise the approach highly enough."
