Didn't They Do Well!

Caregivers from the Waltham Forest branch of Home Instead Senior Care put on an afternoon of fun for the residents at Kingswood Court (assisted living facility) in Chingford when they organised a series of games and entertainment including a musical quiz, old days quiz and musical bingo – Bruce Forsyth would have been very proud!

The team from Home Instead who organised the event as a way of supporting the local elderly community were really impressed with the residents’ knowledge and were delighted to award prizes to the winning individuals and teams.

Danielle Wilson a caregiver for Home Instead said “we really enjoyed meeting with the residents, our day to day job is providing domiciliary care and we thought this was a great way of caring as well, by having a bit of fun and laughter”. She also added “they were all brilliant, they knew nearly all the answers and I have to say that I learnt quite a bit about the past as well!”.

Resident Lillian Buckley has already asked the team to do an encore, inviting them to go back and visit again “we have really enjoyed having them here, it is different to what we normally do” she explained.

Ben Barraco responsible for the Waltham Forest branch of Home Instead Senior Care said “our caregivers in their daily work encourage and stimulate our service users to enjoy a range of activities, all of which help them to live as independently as possible.”Photo caption: Danielle Wilson awarding prizes to the winners at Kingswood Court, Chingford.September 2009.
