Dementia Day Event

Loretta Martin from Dementia Advisory Service and Ben Barraco

Home Instead Senior Care took part in a special "Dementia Day" event organised by Loretta Martin, from the Dementia Advisory Service. The day attracted a large number of people and provided older people, their carers and their families with free advice and information about the services available to them in their local area.

Amongst the many organisations present were the local Age UK, Alzheimer's Society and the local Sensory Team giving valuable demonstrations on the different types of sensory impairment.

Ben Barraco, of Home Instead in Redbridge and Waltham Forest, who specialise in providing care to older people in their own homes, explained, “Events like these are so important because many older people and their families struggle to know where to turn for support and advice, especially so when a crisis hits. The local organisations present were on hand to offer advice on an assortment of key topics. I hope the event was both useful and insightful and am pleased that so many organisations throughout the local community have taken part.”
