About Home Instead Oldham and Saddleworth
If you’re looking for the best care and support, to enable you or your loved one, to remain safe, independent and happy at home, we think you’ve come to the right place.
In November 2016 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated our service as ‘Outstanding’ following its inspection. We received the rating, the highest possible from the CQC, for the quality of our service and it ranks our company in the top one percent of homecare providers across the whole of England. It also makes us the only registered care service in the Oldham area that has been awarded this rating.
The CQC report gives particular praise to the genuine care shown towards our clients by our caregivers. The inspectors stated in their report that: “The service was extremely caring. Feedback from people was unanimously exceptional, with people confirming they were treated with compassion, patience and respect by staff who had built mutually trusting and meaningful relationships with them.”
Mick Sheehan, Managing Director, says about the service “We’re not a care company; we’re a company that cares. Our visits are always at least an hour which means caregivers have the time to truly get to know their clients and form meaningful relationships with them. We’re thrilled to receive an outstanding rating from the CQC – it’s a real testament to the dedication of our caregivers and management team for the companionship and quality of life they give to clients on a daily basis.”

Overall we were very happy with the service. Dad has a small group of carers that know him very well which meant that they were aware of his needs - and that was reassuring for him and us. Quality of care was excellent - compassionate staff, who often went the extra mile and communicated with me at times of crisis.C M (Daughter of Client)
All lived in the local community which was a bonus. It was a pity that the cost of visits meant that it was cheaper to move to residential care, when his needs increased (on top of living costs etc).
