Free Preventing Hospitalisation Talk - June 2019
For people aged 80 years and over, 10 days spent in a hospital bed equates to 10 years of muscle wasting.
Hospitals save lives, but for older people in particular, being admitted to hospital presents a risk in itself – from acquiring infections, muscle wastage through time spent in a hospital bed and the stress of being in an unfamiliar environment.
More older people than ever are being admitted to hospital but many of these visits could have been prevented by taking some simple actions.
Home care company, Home Instead Senior Care, will be giving a free public talk on “Five ways to prevent hospitalisation” hosted by Clapham & Collinge Solicitors at St Catherine's House, All Saints Green, Norwich, NR1 3GA on Wednesday 19th June 2019 at 12:30pm.
The talk will provide straightforward and practical tips and advice to help prevent older people being admitted to hospital.
Home Instead Owner, Chris Carter said: “There are many older residents in Norwich. A little bit or forethought and some simple actions can help these residents stay safe and well and enjoying later life.
“Home Instead Senior Care aim to promote the wellbeing of seniors in Norwich and I would encourage all members of the community to attend this event and find out how they can help Norwich's older residents and ensure Norwich is a great place to live for all.”
