Home Instead gets thumbs up from clients

A Stevenage and North Herts based home care company has been given the thumbs up by its clients, according to a satisfaction survey. Home Instead Senior Care Stevenage and North Herts, which specialises in relationship-led care for older people, has received the seal of approval with 96 per cent of clients recommending the home care provider.

 The independent survey results also revealed that 95 per cent felt their CAREGiver was well matched to them and 100 per cent felt that their CAREGiver was properly introduced to them before they started working with them.

 The survey also questioned CAREGivers and revealed that 98 per cent are proud to work at Home Instead Senior Care and 93 per cent felt motivated to go above and beyond what was required of them.

 Dave Marsh, owner of Home Instead Senior Care Stevenage North Herts said: “To serve our Clients, we have set a path to provide our CAREGivers with real support and to demonstrate our respect for our team. I think often Carers are not respected very well and so, it’s an absolute delight to get such wonderful feedback from Clients and CAREGivers.  It just seems like common sense really – look after your staff, support them, build their skills and guess what – happy team means happy clients delighted with the wonderful services they provide”. 

 Home Instead aims to improve the quality of life for older people by enabling them to live in their own home for longer and ultimately live happier, more comfortable and enjoyable lives. The company matches Clients and CAREGivers through shared interests and visit times which are a minimum of an hour which they say; “allows proper time to build meaningful one to one relationships”. Home Instead says their homecare service is built all around the needs of its clients and strives to deliver ‘relationship-led home care’.  Dave Marsh Owner said;  “So much of Homecare seems focused only on five minute tasks when what our Clients really value is the relationship, the chat and the time to connect.  Some of our Clients need us for just a couple of hours a week to keep their spirits up and to feel connected. I think they are smart because none of us are getting any younger and if more support is required we are already there as a proven, reliable, trusted friend”.   


The company which has achieved the Queens Award, was awarded the highest possible rating as ‘Outstanding’ for its Care Delivery by the industry regulator and watchdog The Care Quality Commission.  “We are absolutely delighted with industry recognition for our efforts but nothing beats the sort of candid direct feedback from our Carers and Clients from this independent survey”.

 Companion and CAREGiver Marianne Walters of Stevenage said: “Right from when I first applied for the job the people were so nice. You are treated as an individual and like a friend. The way you are matched with your clients shows what a caring company they are. I have never worked for such a caring compassionate company where you as an individual are just as important as the clients you serve”

 Client Mrs Flavelle daughter of Mrs Daly in Stevenage said: “You cared for my friend’s mother and she said you were fantastic. I completely agree, what a fantastic team of professionals. Your levels of care compassion, knowledge of Dementia and understanding are outstanding. Thank you for taking away the major stress in my life”.
