How to make lentil soup

• 1 cup dried lentils
• 4 cups vegetable broth
• 1 carrot, diced
• 1 celery stalk, diced
• 1 onion, diced
• 2 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 teaspoon dried thyme
• 1 bay leaf
• Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Rinse lentils and place in a pot with the vegetable broth.
  2. Add the diced carrot, celery, and onion to the pot along with the garlic, thyme, and bay leaf.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes, until the lentils are tender.
