Many people have preconceived ideas about what caring for the elderly is all about.
We’re holding the FIRST ever #youcancare week March 12th – 16th, to raise awareness of what it’s really like to work as a CAREGiver for older people and the HUGE rewards that come with it.
Caring goes beyond bed baths and assisting with toileting, it’s about making a connection with a person and being their companion. At Home Instead, it doesn’t matter what type of work you’ve been in previously or what training or qualifications you have as full training is provided. Instead, it’s about the right personality and attitude.
Throughout the week, follow the #youcancareweek and #youcancare hashtags to find out more about a career in caring. We’ll be posting videos, quotes and advice around caring for older people and you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.
Themes throughout the week:
Monday 12th: Monday Motivation – new career? Consider care.
Tuesday 13th: Qualities of a CAREGiver – do you have what it takes?
Wednesday 14th: CAREGiver Inspiration
Thursday 15th: What I LOVE about caring...
Friday 16th: Over to you...ask any questions!
Get involved! Use the hashtags and share your inspirational stories about caring for an older person or ask us any questions you may have about working in care.
