Our Salford and Worsley office has landed a tremendous 20th ‘outstanding’ rating for Home Instead Senior Care from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England.
Outstanding is the highest rating available from the CQC.
Home Instead Salford and Worsley has achieved the standard less than two years after opening the office.
Susan Robinson and Jo Shaughnessy opened the office early last year, after finding Home Instead while seeking care for Susan’s mother. They were so impressed by what Home Instead had to offer, so decided to bring this special blend of caring to their local community.
In summing up the caring nature of the business inspectors wrote, ‘The feedback we received from people who used the service was unanimously positive both about the care they received and the caregivers. People consistently told us caregivers provided an excellent level of care which was dedicated, compassionate and centred on what they wanted.’ They went on to say, ‘We saw specific examples of where caregivers had gone ‘above and beyond’ for people who used their service.’
Clients, relatives and caregivers were interviewed as part of the inspection process and were full of praise for our service in Salford and Worsley.
One client told the inspectors, “With previous companies I have used there were always different carers coming round that I didn’t know, but it’s not like that with Home Instead. They ensure their caregivers share similar interests to their clients. The carers who come and see me are excellent, but I think of them more as friends really and look forward to each one of their visits.”
The individual case studies in the report are heart-warming. One such anecdote states ‘A client had been admitted to hospital over the weekend…They had a pet cat and the caregiver knew her client would be worried about the cat being on its own. The caregiver, in their own time, called to the house over the weekend to leave the cat food & milk and contacted the hospital to inform the ward staff that the cat was okay and to let her client know to prevent them from worrying.’
Commenting on this, Home Instead’s 20th CQC Outstanding rating, Managing Director Martin Jones said, “We are proud to hold more CQC ‘outstanding’ ratings than any other company but we never take a great report for granted. It is clear to see that Susan, Jo and their team are committed to the Home Instead mission of improving the quality of life for older people.
"That inspectors noted so many instances of staff going ‘above and beyond’ to look after their clients is beautiful to see. The whole report is testament to Susan and Jo’s leadership, as well as the caring nature of everyone on the Salford and Worsley team.”
Only 2% of homecare providers inspected by the CQC have achieved an ‘outstanding’ rating. We are immensely proud that the Home Instead brand still holds more than any other company.
