We’re proud to announce that our South East Northumberland office is the 37th in the Home Instead Senior Care network to be rated as ‘Outstanding’.
Some of the wonderful comments from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) report included: “They go beyond what’s expected”, “They are faultless and have exceeded my expectations. They go above and beyond to do their best for my mum. Yes, they are brilliant.”
The South East Northumberland office is run by husband and wife team Guy and Carole Kirk, who set up the business just 18 months ago.
During a CQC inspection, the views of a company’s CAREGivers, clients and clients’ families are sought as well as those of local health and social care professionals.
The couple’s ‘special ambassador’, Martha a cocker spaniel, even received a special mention in the report. Martha visits some clients and they told the inspectors that they loved seeing her and that she brought comfort to them.
Inspectors heard of a CAREGiver who created two gardens for a client who loved gardening and how that gave the client a focus and a lot of joy. Another CAREGiver was determined to get a client exercising and suggested ten pin bowling on a video game console – it worked.
Another took their client out in a wheelchair for the first time and said, “Seeing the pleasure and delight on her face when the wind blew through her hair and the sun shone on her face made me smile inside.”
Commenting on the inspection, Guy said, “We are humbled by the very many positive comments contained within the report and so proud of our team. We share a vision and that is to allow people to live in their own homes, leading a fulfilled life and it’s lovely to see that we are allowing people to achieve this.”
