Tea, Laughter and Company, that’s the kind of TLC on offer from 2pm to 4pm every Wednesday afternoon for local residents in Frodsham, courtesy of volunteers and staff from at-home care company Home Instead.
The group, formed in January by Home Instead owner Neil Cook, has around 18 regulars who get together at Main Street Community Church in Frodsham.
Neil says that everyone has a lovely time and anyone wishing to join them would be made to feel extremely welcome. He comments: “The group is quite simply an opportunity to bring the local community together for tea and cake, a chat and the chance to join in with some activities, such as bingo, if you want to. It’s just nice for everyone to get out of the house, have a catch up with old friends and make some new friends. Thanks to the support of our Caregivers and volunteers, we are able to offer help with transport for those who need it.”
If you would like to join the group, or can spare a few hours to help as a volunteer or as a driver, contact Neil at Home Instead on 01928 733 020. Neil is also very keen to hear from potential speakers who would like to come along to address the group. The group recently had a visit from their local Police Community Support Officers to talk about personal safety and have just enjoyed a trip out to the local garden centre together.
Home Instead services include personal care such as assistance with bathing, dressing, eating and medications; home help covering all aspects of day-to-day housework, shopping, meal preparation and household duties; and companionship services that can involve everything from escorting clients on visits or appointments to simple conversation and good company.
