The writing’s on the Pledge Wall for Carers Week

At Home Instead we’re committed to celebrating care in all its forms.

Today sees the start of national Carers Week – marking the many hours of care provided in so many different ways and by people of all ages across the country.

We’re delighted to support Carers Week - with its focus this year around creating carer friendly communities.

We’re equally proud to have signed up to the Carers Week ‘Pledge Wall’ to demonstrate our support for this important awareness raising week – joining individuals, charities and businesses up and down the country.

Our CAREGivers provide 4 million hours of care each year but at Home Instead we are equally committed to making a difference to families and the wider community too.

Here’s our Carers Week pledge:

It’s #carersweek and we #lovetocare

That’s not just for the clients we help every day through our home care and companionship visits. We are committed to supporting their families – through the respite that our service provides - and to making a difference across broader communities too.

Through our local offices we run a number of schemes and initiatives that take us right into the beating heart of the neighbourhoods we serve.

Some of our programmes see us sharing our extensive knowledge of care and best practice and others simply allow us to spread some happiness.

So far we have trained 20,000 families and members of local communities to better understand dementia, have highlighted the importance of senior fraud protection and encouraged members of the wider community to become a ‘santa to a senior’.

We’re committed to helping to build and to sustain carer friendly communities – more important than ever before with our country’s ageing population.
