Supporting Silver Week - 12th–18th May

We are all delighted to be supporting Silver Week this week.

Silver Week is The Silver Line charity’s annual awareness week which aims to shine a light on loneliness and isolation in older people and raise essential funds to ensure Silver Line’s services are delivered to as many people as possible.

At Home Instead we understand the impact of social isolation and are keen to raise awareness of loneliness which can have a devastating effect on anyone.

Earlier this year our managing director, Martin Jones, became a Trustee of the charity and he is full of praise for their work, saying, “Loneliness is a real issue and, as it says on The Silver Line charity’s website, no one deserves to be lonely. Yet, with our ageing population, more and more older people are finding themselves alone and lonely.

“I was honoured to be asked to join the charity’s board and pleased that the Home Instead national office team and network are able to lend their support with fundraising initiatives too.”

You can visit The Silver Line website to learn more about their work or make a donation– just £5 enables an older person to make a call to the charity’s 24-hour helpline.
