An award-winning service which delivers at-home care to help adults stay in their own homes for as long as possible has welcomed a new member of staff.
Debbie Pearson, aged 52 from Radlett, has taken up the post of care manager at Luton & Central Bedfordshire’ s office of Home Instead in Butterfield, Great Marlings. She is responsible for many aspects of the day to day running of the office and her role covers recruitment, training, compliance and quality assurance.
Debbie has worked in the caring profession for over 32 years and although she has entertained the idea of other careers, she feels that caring is what she was born to do.
Around 2 years ago, when her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Debbie was saddened by the lack of quality at-home care available. She was thrilled to hear about the vacancy with Home Instead, as her own high-standards fitted perfectly with the company’s ethos of providing the best quality of at-home care.
Commenting on her position, Debbie said: “I am very proud of the quality service that we are delivering here at Home Instead and working with such a motivated and caring team is just fantastic. I am really enjoying all elements of my new role, but the hands-on element of the job is great. We do all sorts of activities with our clients including accompanying them swimming and even attending family occasions – we will help them with all aspects of their day to day lives. Seeing the impact we have never fails to make my day!”

Outside of work, Debbie spends a great deal of time with her family and visits her mum frequently. She also has two children and now 2 grandchildren, all of whom she is utterly besotted with. Debbie lives with her partner John and the pair love to travel.
Home Instead’s services are tailored to the needs of individual clients and range from companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, post-discharge care, personal care, medication reminders, shopping and errands. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
