Local MP Karen Bradley joined local business Home Instead to help them celebrate their official launch and pass on her best wishes to the team, who she said were offering a “much needed” service in the area.
Home Instead is a local company that provides at-home care for elderly people across the area. Owner Carol Lovatt and care manager Irene Merricks were keen to gather together friends, family, clients and caregivers at the event to celebrate their official launch whilst raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The team were joined by nearly 30 guests and held a prize draw to raise money for the cause, whilst a local singer entertained their visitors.
Karen Bradley said of the business: “Home Instead is a fantastic company as the support it provides enables older people to stay in their own homes for as long as possible. Well done to Carol, Irene and the rest of the team for their hard work and the fantastic job they are doing already of supporting elderly people in our local area.”
Carol was thrilled with the comments from MP Karen Bradley, and equally as pleased with how the open day was received by the attendees. Carol commented: “We have all thoroughly enjoyed this event and our guests seem to have had a great time, tucking into our Home Instead cake and listening to the dulcet tones of the fabulous local singer, Julie Gater. Hearing such positive and encouraging words from our MP however has to be the icing on the cake for me as it is great to be recognised for the high-quality of care that we are so dedicated to delivering.”
Home Instead services include personal care such as assistance with bathing, dressing, eating and medications; home help covering all aspects of day-to-day housework, shopping, meal preparation and household duties plus companionship services that can involve everything from escorting clients to appointments through to simple conversation and good company.
