New Care Manager is not to be messed with

An award-winning service which helps elderly people to stay in their own homes for as long as possible has welcomed Sara Pateras from Barry Island, to their team in the role of Care Manager.

Home Instead Cardiff newly appointed Care Manager Sara Pateras

Sara brings a wealth of experience having worked in the caring profession for nearly 20 years.

She has worked with youngsters, the elderly, the mentally infirm, and with families and children with regards to child protection.

Having grown up with a poorly grandmother, Sara recalls the family pitching together to care for her and believes this may have been the thing that sparked her interest in care as a profession.

Prior to joining the Home Instead team, Sara managed a home for adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. However, when she saw an advert for the position of care manager with Home Instead, she jumped at the chance to apply.

Having really enjoyed the interview process, Sara felt the values of the company had struck a chord with her own. Sara commented: “In the care sector it is very easy for companies to say the right words, but not always live up to their promises. However, after meeting the team at Home Instead, it became apparent that they consistently deliver a quality service which is why they are renowned for having such high standards of care.”

Sara continues: “I enjoy the task of ensuring our clients receive the right care, from the right people at the right time. We don’t have a standard solution here and are extremely flexible to fit in around the needs of our clients. This obviously means my job is a little more difficult, but offering tailored solutions to ensure each client is receiving a service that is perfect for them, is hugely rewarding! I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Phil Batchelor, Owner of Home Instead Cardiff said: “We are delighted to welcome Sara to our team.  She has such enthusiasm and a very strong work ethic.  With her wealth of experience from a wide range of caring roles, she is just the sort of person we need to continue to flourish as a business.”

Outside of work, Sara loves to spend time with her family and has a son who is 12 and a daughter who is 14. She says that her children have recently inspired her to take up Karate and the three of them now attend the same class. It sounds like Sara is a care manager not to be messed with!
