Home Instead in Portobello is delighted to announce the appointment of Jacqui Donachie as Care Manager. Home Instead provides at-home care for elderly people within the community so that they can remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
Jacqui brings much experience in the care sector to her new role. Having worked in various care departments within the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, Jacqui then moved to coordinate and manage services in the community for a local homecare provider. All this experience makes her the perfect new addition to the Home Instead team.
Jacqui, who has lived in Penicuik for 35 years, commented, “I am really excited about my new role. So many of us have witnessed the difficulties related to care in the community, and so it is fantastic to be able to be part of a service that is trying to change elderly care for the better.”
In her new role, Jacqui is responsible for managing the day to day running of Home Instead.
This involves interviewing potential new team members, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures and acting in the best interests of their clients to ensure they are receiving the quality care that Home Instead provides.
In her spare time, Jacqui enjoys a wealth of activities including playing the violin, swimming and photography. She even finds time to fit in her favourite programme, Big Brother.
