Home Instead set to mark VE Day with Hour of Joy
On Friday, 8th May 2020, we are joining forces with Home Instead’s Bring Joy Foundation to mark VE Day by hosting a live Facebook event from 11:30am-12:30pm.
We are welcoming our CAREGivers and clients and anyone else who would like to join us to take part in the event as we join the rest of the UK in remembrance and celebration of the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
Andy Powell, a wonderful entertainer, MC and singer, will be hosting the special 1-hour event. Bring your cupcakes, teapots, flags, hats and bunting but most of all bring your JOY!
The #hourofjoy will include live singalongs to our favourite war time songs to commemorate VE Day whilst also to celebrating the current everyday heroes who are keeping us all safe, well and cared for during this current challenge.
We are also hoping that the event will raise some funds for Bring Joy’s Keep Busy, Keep Active fund.
Penny Hamer, Executive Director of the Bring Joy Foundation said, “As we prepare to celebrate VE Day, we hope that you join in for a virtual sing-song and hour of joy.
“We would be delighted if you wanted to support our Foundation’s Keep Busy, Keep Active fund. The campaign is designed to support seniors across the UK to stay busy, active and emotionally supported during this period of lockdown.”
