Home Instead invites local carers to pamper day

As part of National Carers Week 2011, Home Instead Senior Care East Northants is inviting local carers to come and enjoy a day of pampering and relaxation at their offices in Higham Ferrers, Northants.

National Carers Week, which runs from 13th–19th June is a national event intended to celebrate the hard work of those that provide care for a friend, relative or loved one. Home Instead is a private company that specialises in at-home care for elderly locals, and owners Mark Darnell and Elaine Lomax have decided to get involved with this event to raise money for local charity Northamptonshire Carers.

As one of the Home Instead team, Caregiver Gemma also runs her own beauty business “Gemma Barrow Beauty with Pure Indulgence”, Home Instead has paid for a day’s worth of treatments for carers in the local area who would like to come along. For a small donation, carers will be offered a range of treatments from brow shaping and manicures, to hand and arm massages to relieve every-day stresses and strains.

Mark commented: “National Carers Week gives us the opportunity to say thank you to those who provide free care in our community. It also gives us the opportunity to say thank you to our fantastic team of caregivers. By raising money for Northamptonshire Carers, we hope to help them with their worthy mission of providing a comprehensive support service to unpaid carers living in Northamptonshire.”

Northamptonshire Carers is an independent local charity that offers a range of services to carers of all ages. As well as offering support groups, free gym membership and days-out, the charity empowers local carers to spend time looking after themselves. Jenny Osborne, Carers Strategy Support Officer at Northants Carers comments: “With 59,000 carers living in Northamptonshire today, it is really important to make sure there is someone looking after them! Events such as this pamper day are a fantastic opportunity for local carers to take some time out from their busy schedules and it is fantastic that Mark and Elaine are also using this event as an opportunity to raise money for our cause.”

The pamper day will take place from 10am-4pm on June 14th at Home Instead, Unit 6, Moulton College, Chelveston Road, Higham Ferrers, Northants, NN10 8HN. To book your treatment, or for more information about the event, call the office on 01933 358708 or visit:  www.homeinstead.co.uk.
