Home Instead Elmbridge goes extra mile in CQC Outstanding

Home Instead in Esher has been awarded the highest national accolade in the care sector by going the extra mile to provide outstanding care.

Home Instead Elmbridge and East Spelthorne, run by Damien Nolan, has been named as ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent care sector regulator.

With only three per cent of home care providers achieving an outstanding rating, this places Home Instead in an elite group of care companies.

Inspectors were told that Home Instead’s CAREGivers went ‘the extra mile’ and the report quotes many examples.

One CAREGiver saved a client’s life when they arrived at their home to find them choking on medicines. They commenced basic life support and called the emergency services; saving the client’s life.

Other examples included a CAREGiver caring for a client’s dog when they were in hospital and making sure someone’s garden looked lovely as they knew how important this was to them at the end of their life.

One client, speaking of their CAREGiver said “She’s like a ray of sunshine coming in.

Commenting on the outstanding rating, Damien said, “I am privileged that we have had this recognition as it has reflected the great effort that our staff put in.

“The feedback in the report is heartening and it is great to see that we have a foundation and platform from which we can achieve even more in the coming years.”
