‘Friendly’ Home Care Service Rated as ‘Outstanding’
We’re thrilled to announce that another Home Instead office has received the accolade of Outstanding by the industry regulator, the Care Quality Commission.
Home Instead Cannock, run by Frances Sayer and team has been described as providing an Outstanding, ‘Effective, Caring and Well-led service’ with praise galore from the inspectors.
Frances works with a team of experienced, friendly CAREGivers from all over Cannock and the surrounding areas to provide a wide range of in-home care services. The team is now among just three per cent of home care providers in the UK that have been rated as Outstanding by the CQC.
As part of the inspection, clients, CAREGivers, relatives and other health professionals were asked for their feedback on the service provided by Frances and her team.
One professional commented: "Everyone who is supported by Home Instead doesn't want to lose them. They are very responsive and go above and beyond. For example, the Home Instead team worked with us to ensure a person had four hourly calls for pressure care. You wouldn't get another care provider being this proactive and flexible."
Commenting on the report, Frances said: “The rating and feedback from the Care Quality Commission reflects the high levels of professionalism and care we are absolutely passionate about delivering. We have developed and promoted a friendly and positive culture which always has people and their families at the heart of everything we do.”
One relative said in the report: "They provide a bespoke care package to meet our needs. They are not just carers, they are friends who really care about their clients and demonstrate this on a weekly basis with chats, singing and having a joke or two with Mum"
The CQC report also highlighted how Home Instead adds another layer of reassurance for people and their families by making use of technology to manage care plans and communicate with relatives. A dedicated Home Instead mobile app records, monitors and reviews people's care needs. Relatives can see when a CAREGiver has visited a client and how they have been supported accessing this information ‘on the go’ - giving them peace of mind and helping them to create conversations about what their relatives have done with their day.
In the CQC report, the CAREGivers from Home Instead Cannock were also praised for constantly exceeding the expectations of the clients and their families. One relative commented: “Staff go and fetch my relative's prescriptions as I live miles away. They will even go out and get them fish and chips from the chippy if they fancy them."
Frances concluded: “Our CAREGivers really are truly wonderful people and I’m delighted for them and for the families we support that we have been awarded this ‘Outstanding’ CQC Rating.”
