Emily and Teri celebrate a year of caring

Caregiver Teri Hallam recently celebrated spending her first year caring for Mrs Emily Wilson as part of Home Instead Senior Care’s at home care service based in Nottingham.

When Emily and Teri were first introduced in July last year, Emily was Teri’s first client. However, one year on, they have become great friends, with Emily looking forward to each of Teri’s visits. Teri even describes Emily as her inspiration as she has a steely determination and never gives up.

To celebrate their year together and Emily’s 95th birthday, the team presented Emily with some flowers and a brand new food processor to replace her broken one. Teri commented, ‘I wanted to celebrate my first year caring for this lovely lady, and so when her food processor broke, it was the perfect opportunity to thank her. She was lost without it, so it was great to be able to help her out.’

As part of Home Instead Nottingham’s service, Teri provides Emily with support, companionship and a helping hand in everyday tasks so that Emily can remain at home. Emily’s daughter, Penny is delighted with the care Emily is provided with, and commented, ‘They are always punctual and are the first company to keep sending the same person. I would definitely recommend them.’
