Changing the face of homecare - our #hometruths

Home Instead CAREgiver delivering home care to an elderly gentleman

At a time when adult social care is under both the political and media spotlight, Home Instead is living proof that there is a better way to deliver homecare.

How Home Instead deliver home care

Our bespoke relationship-led model has generated record positive results in an independent satisfaction survey. These robust statistics prove that our unique approach IS changing the face of homecare in the UK.

We are proud of the headline findings:

  • 96% of clients would recommend Home Instead.
  • 96% of our CAREGivers are proud to work for Home Instead.
  • 93% of CAREGivers feel they are given enough time to deliver the desired levels of client care.

The survey, undertaken in June this year, has endorsed the difference Home Instead is making to the lives of both our clients and our CAREGivers every day. More than 4,000 Home Instead clients and 4,100 Home Instead CAREGivers were polled.

For us, care and companionship go hand-in-hand. That means visits delivered by familiar faces in the form of dedicated CAREGivers who are matched to their clients based on common interests. That is complemented by calls that last a minimum of one hour, we believe quality care can’t be delivered in less.

At its best, we think homecare is delivered by people who feel valued, respected and part of a bigger mission. We couldn’t deliver excellent homecare without our CAREGivers. They are the backbone of our care model.

The results show that our CAREGivers feel they have opportunities to learn and develop new skills and, most importantly, they have enough time to deliver the quality homecare they know older people deserve.

Together we ARE changing the face of homecare in the UK.

This is our truth.

I personally brought Home Instead to the UK 10 years ago after experiencing poor quality care for my grandfather Frank. I believed there had to be a better way for our loved ones, and our ageing population, to get homecare that passes the ‘mum test’, the standard we would all want for our relatives and for ourselves.

The 2015 results show that the change I envisaged a decade ago is here and hard at work every day - as we deliver 5 million hours of quality homecare each year. Through our network of 167 offices across the UK, the Home Instead way is breaking the mould for homecare. These are our #hometruths
