In the early noughties, Anitra Camargo, who runs our Windsor, Egham and Staines office, was a high flying business executive with a London software company working in New York and across Europe.
Anitra became ill in 2010 and was diagnosed with secondary cancer. During her treatment and subsequent recovery she experienced amazing support from health and social care professionals. When she was ready to go back to work she decided to walk away from her corporate career and instead decided to give something back.
And that’s exactly what Anitra has been doing since setting up the Home Instead office in Egham in 2011.
She has built a team of caring and compassionate people who are helping to make a difference to older people’s lives in the local area. The work they do allows them to remain in their own homes for longer than would otherwise be possible and brings peace of mind to their
Anitra’s efforts were rewarded this week when she heard from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) that her office has been rated as OUTSTANDING - the highest rating possible.
With this rating, Anitra joins Home Instead’s thirteen other offices who have been awarded ‘Outstanding’.
Commenting on this achievement, Managing Director of Home Instead, Martin Jones said, “It is clear that Anitra’s office is providing outstanding care and that clients and their families are delighted with the service they receive.
“It’s worth noting that only 1% of adult social care services inspected in England have been rated Outstanding so Anitra joins a very select group of providers.”
During a CQC inspection the inspectors speak to clients, families and staff as well as local healthcare experts.
The report states that ‘People using the service, their representatives and community and social care professionals all provided positive feedback about the service. Everyone said they would recommend it to others.’
