Care business celebrates first year of care

An award winning care service, which allows elderly people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible, has celebrated its first year in business in Wigan.

Home Instead Senior Care, which is owned and run by Phil Eckersley, celebrated the milestone with a first birthday party on October 4th.  Phil was joined at the event by members of his caregiving team and guest of honour The Mayoress, Cllr Joy Birch and Cllr Barbara Bourne (Local Councillor for Pemberton Ward) along with a number of health professionals and representatives from the local community.

The Home Instead team was particularly pleased that two clients, Mr Jeff Rowson and Mr James Holland, were able to join the celebrations.

Commenting on the day, Phil said, “It was a pleasure to see Jeff and James here at the office where they were able to sit and chat to all different sorts of people, including our Mayoress.

“Much of our service is about companionship and there was certainly plenty of chatter and smiling faces at the event. I’m so glad so many local people were able to attend.”

Home Instead’s services can include personal care such as assistance with bathing, dressing and medications; home help covering housework, shopping, meal preparation and household duties; and companionship services that can involve everything from escorting clients on visits or appointments to simple conversation and good company.

A range of specialist services, which include Alzheimer’s and dementia care, convalescence care and respite care, is also available.
