We are very sad to announce that our Care Coordinator Sue is retiring. Both her and her husband Mike, who also worked for Home Instead as a CAREGiver and then Scheduler, are moving down to Devon to enjoy their retirement.
Prior to joining Home Instead Sue was a qualified midwife who has had an extensive career in nursing, working in a range of different roles from being a surgical ward sister to becoming the Director of Inpatient Nursing in a hospital in London.
Sue started with Home Instead in 2011 as a CAREGiver and then quickly progressed to the role of Care Coordinator. Sue’s role involved visiting Clients to assess their care needs and making any relevant changes to the care plan, visiting Clients and family members to check if they are happy with the service we are providing, training CAREGivers in medication and much more!
Over the 7 years Sue has built fantastic relationships with Clients and CAREGivers and we have had many people express their sadness of Sue leaving.
Both Sue and Mike will be missed as they have been a huge part of Home Instead journey over the years! We wish them all the best for their move to Devon and we’re already looking forward to them visiting us soon.
“I’ve worked for Home Instead for 7 years – 3 as a CAREGiver and 4 as Care Coordinator. I’m grateful that I have been trusted by management to do my role successfully and my opinions have always been valued and listened to. I’m also thankful of the support I have received from the office team because we are all cogs in one machine who work well together.
I’ve been lucky to have met such wonderful clients who have treated me as a friend and looked forward to my visits. I’ve built fantastic relationships with both clients and their family members who I will miss. The CAREGivers are wonderful and I feel fortunate to have supported and trained them so they can continue to provide the fantastic care we’re known for.
I have loved working for Home Instead for the past 7 years – it has felt like being part of a family. I will miss everyone, but I’m looking forward to starting the next chapter of my life. “
