At Home Instead we are very proud of our team of CAREGivers and the difference they make to their clients lives every day. We work very hard to ensure that they receive the very best training and support and we think this shows not only in the great service we offer to our clients but also in the happiness of our staff.
Every year we ask all of our clients and CAREGivers to complete a confidential survey which allows us to gage if we are getting it right and listen to their ideas and suggestions.
This year the survey was undertaken in June and once again we were thrilled with the results
This is what our CAREGivers said about us:
‘’Having recently done the training in Parkinson’s I have found it has helped immensely with one of my clients. Also the Dementia training has proved invaluable helping me to understand and think of alternatives when needed.’’
‘’I am given the right support and information to achieve a positive working environment with my clients and family at the top of my agenda.’’
‘’At all my appraisals I have been asked what I would like to achieve and my training goals have been taken into account and I am offered training regularly.’’
‘’Whenever I have called the office, straight away I will be given the support/answers required. My manager is very supportive and approachable. The training given is thorough. The further training offered is exceptional.’’
98% of our staff said they would recommend Home Instead Senior Care to a friend or family member as a place to work. They believe that Home Instead Senior Care as a whole is effectively managed and well run and they understand why Home Instead Senior Care is different from other care companies
What our clients think:
‘’Excellent CAREGivers, good management. They take an interest in the clients real needs and life, I would highly recommend’’
‘’They know about the client in a very personalised manner. They provide solutions, not problems in dealing with current issues’’
‘’When I was looking for an agency - I was told they would be 'the daughter who doesn't have to go to work' and they are absolutely that. Enabling me to go to work knowing they do so much (if not more) than I could.’’
‘’CAREGivers go the extra mile to ensure client is looked after. Plus regular CAREGiver & times makes a huge difference - CAREGivers who get to know clients makes a huge difference especially to someone with Dementia’’
‘’Staff are sympathetic, efficient, friendly. They bring a CAREGiver to the house to introduce them before they start working with you.’’
‘’Home Instead does what they say in their brochures. A refreshing change from our other experiences. Thank you.’’

“ Home Instead have been a lifesaver for me and my family. They have never let us down, are always reliable, punctual and treat my mother with respect and dignity. This service allows me to continue to work and know that my mother is still able to attend appointments and have a lovely day/afternoon out with the carers who she feels are friends - people she can chat to, laugh with and be herself. The carers go above and beyond, every carer has been happy, cheerful and nothing is too much trouble. Home Instead as a whole keep in touch with me, and are extremely professional in every time they do, they are not just a business, they are part of our family. ’’
Following their car accident, my elderly parents needed full time care at home. We chose Home Instead for afternoon companionship from recommendation elsewhere.
I didn't expect this would lead to four and a half years of personal commitment to my parents by carers who became part of the family. Their solid little team provided conversation, cups of tea, games of dominoes and help to my father with reading, writing and arithmetic to help him recover something of himself following the stroke he suffered after the accident, and the vascular dementia that resulted.
The secret of Home Instead's success is communication; support from their manager to me as my parents' needs changed; support to my parents by the carers with dedication above and beyond the mere carrying out of duties. One of the carers was with my father when he died.
As a family we mourn our parents' passing, but alongside that, we also miss the extended family that Home Instead became.
We used Home Instead Senior Care over 6 years, first as a companionship visit then 4 visits a day and finally right time care alongside 4 daily care visits. Carers were excellent, attentive, caring, adaptable and became friends to my mother not just carers. There was always a main carer with perhaps 2 others to support so mum knew who was coming in and may get to know each other well- so unlike previous agencies where sometimes 8 or 9 different carers would come a week. Managers were supportive and friendly kept in touch and provided care often at short notice as circumstances changed often rapidly. Excellent care service all round.
Mum, Angela and I wanted to thank you all - care givers and office staff - for the excellent service provided by Home Instead Milton Keynes. Lynn, Jessica and Shirley have all been so warm, caring, capable and professional throughout, and their commitment to Mum's well being has been outstanding. Nothing was ever too much trouble and everything was done with such good humour. Angela and I always felt that Mum was in a safe pair of hands during their call times and we also appreciated the support offered to us two by them and the "back office" team when we needed extra help. You are all stars!
I would definitely recommend anyone to use Home Instead. They have treated my mum with the greatest of care and respect, ensuring her safety at all times. They have great patience with mum and communicate with her as a person not as someone with dementia, although that obviously has to be taken into account. I like the fact there is no uniform as mum would jus think it was nurses coming in and would get upset. The carers have been company for me too and become friends not just carers. I went two and a half years with no help and now. I don't know what I would do without them. You're all stars!
Very happy with the service, far superior to other agencies in my experience. care workers are matched to the client, which works well for us. They genuinely care and for my dad cheering his day making our lives better.
Home Instead provide a reliable and professional care service to my elderly housebound mother.
There are consistently only two carers involved - a main and backup carer - and this allows for the development of the relationship and for continuity of care.
There have never been any missed attendances and the carers are very professional and supportive in everything they do.
Home Instead offers a unique approach to care, during a period when larger agencies are becoming overstretched, inefficient and unreliable.
I cannot praise the carers my Mum had highly enough. Professional, kind, caring and often going the extra mile to ensure she was as comfortable as possible, such a contrast from the previous agency - they became friends, not just carers I only wish we could have used Home Instead earlier! Not only that, but office staff and managers were efficient and caring too, always responding when they said they would and following up with courtesy calls to see how things were going. As my Mum's health deteriorated, Home Instead put in extra care as requested often at very short notice and in the final week at home before residential care became the only option, I do not know what I would have done without them.

My family wish to thank you and your team for the very professional and tender caring of my wife. Their ministering helped tremendously in enabling her wish to remain at home until the end of her life.
Mr GB - Bletchley
Our mother's request was to return home on discharge from hospital after having had a terminal illness diagnosis, aged almost 99 years of age and as a family we were faced with very emotional and difficult decisions regarding her care at home. Home Instead Milton Keynes were appointed to provide the care package to support the family and our experiences, from day one, with the managers and caregivers was very positive and they always demonstrated a professional but very personal approach to the often unpleasant tasks undertaken, always gently treating our mother with huge respect. Mum felt very safe and comfortable with the caregivers and looked forward to their visits, in our case that was four times each day and, when it became necessary the transition from single handed to double handed attendance was seamless. Always punctual and apparently unhurried in the delivery of their services the carers really did 'care' for Mum and they became our friends because they empathised with the family's situation and supported and encouraged us to be strong in what was a really difficult time for us all. We all felt that Mum was always treated with the respect that she deserved and in the way that we, as a close and caring family, had reasonably expected. The caregivers were, in our eyes, very special people and the structure of Home Instead Milton Keynes seemed to support and monitor all the activities. Based on our experiences we would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead as an efficient, effective and professional care service provider. This is not an advertisement for Home Instead but rather a sincere testimonial from an ordinary family who have experienced their actions.

I must give my special thanks to Carol & Mary who took so much time and care in ensuring that Mum was looked after on a one to one basis, with the dignity she deserved and also for the lovely outings she so enjoyed. Their service was over and above my expectations and I will always remember the help they gave, which made my life so much easier, when it was most needed. I have nothing but praise for Home Instead.
Mr AV, Newport Pagnell
A huge thank you for all your support and patient, efficient organisation throughout Home Instead's involvement with my mum's care. Your calm approach made a great difference to how I was able to cope with the ever-changing situation. You were fantastic as were all the ladies involved. Thank you so much.
Mr DD - Milton Keynes
I really like the way I was matched up with my support person Gemma. Having someone to support me to go swimming and being in the pool with me helps me with my swimming and to stand up straight. She has made a huge difference by giving support that is not just about personal care but also doing fun things in life. Plus it is nice to have someone in my own age group that I can do this with. She deserves a pat on the back!

For my family, the service offered by Home Instead worked on a number of levels. It brightened my parents' day to see a caring and friendly person to talk to. The flexibility offered by the staff to complete a multitude of tasks is, to my mind, unique. Home Instead were reliable and punctual and I would not hesitate to recommend this service to others.

Thank you for the excellent care my father received from Home Instead. It was not easy for him to accept help but due to the kindness and patience of your team he came not only to accept it but appreciate and be very grateful for it. I personally was relieved to know that I could rely on your service implicitly and appreciated the fact that if ever the designated carer was unable to come for any reason, and however last minute a change of plan was required, we were never left high and dry. The punctuality of your ladies was excellent. Please convey my thanks to everyone involved with my father's care but particularly to his regular ladies, Betty and Gemma, both of whom were lovely and a pleasure to have coming in to the house. They both gave the impression that they genuinely cared for my father's well-being.
Mr MA - Buckingham
It is a daunting experience to have an elderly relative who is unable to cope for themselves. It's equally daunting to find people to provide professional care who not only have the right skills and experience but are also 'carers' in the real sense of the word. Unlike some companies, Home Instead avoids providing a package where the person being cared for has to fit in with the design of the package. Instead they start with the needs of the customer and provide care that meets those needs in the best possible way. This means that care is flexible and adapts to changing circumstances. Home Instead spent time getting to know my mother as an individual so she felt valued and 'special'. I have only praise for the high quality of care that Home Instead provides.
Mr RC - Bedford
Very happy and satisfied with the professional standard of care services offered by Home Instead. Struck up an excellent rapport with Caroline.
