Thursday, 15th June saw us taking out some of our lovely clients to enjoy the Dancing with Dementia event in the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool. What a wonderful location, the ballroom is so beautiful inside and was a perfect setting for dancing.
Everyone was looking so smart, with all our lovely lady guests wearing beautiful corsages and our lovely gentleman, CAREGivers and office team donning button holes in our Home Instead colours.
"Where are you from - you all look very beautiful".....
Our table and guests received some lovely compliments on the day from other guests and the organisers and it was lovely to hear such kind comments.
The event, arranged by Blackpool Council, provided some wonderful entertainment; including a brass band, professional ballroom dancing displays, young Competitive Dancers Christopher and Lexie, a school choir, the famous Wurlitzer Organ, dance displays with children from a local school, a raffle and not least a lovely Afternoon Tea.
Our guests, supported by their 'Perfect Companions' (CAREGivers Barbara, Sandra, Jo and Kathy), Care Manager Dawn and Community Development Officer Lois thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Most especially the displays from Lexie and Christopher, who at just 10 years of age delighted the audience with their Latin and Ballroom dancing. Look out for them on Strictly we say!!
It was a wonderful opportunity to remind everyone that it is still possible to live well with dementia and at Home Instead Lytham, Fylde and Wyre we go out of our way to ensure that our clients continue to live well by providing help and assistance in their own homes and supporting them to get out and about enjoying activities they have always done - all with a Perfect Companion.
A fabulous day out with wonderful people - creating happy memories for all.
