Learning and Development Coordinator

Home Instead Senior Care Glasgow are looking for a motivated individual to join our office team as a Learning and Development Coordinator. This will be a fantastic opportunity for a person with a genuinely caring nature to join an established team making a positive difference in the lives of others and their local community. We provide person centred and bespoke services to our clients across the East Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire. We strive to deliver the highest standards of support and change peoples lives for the better, maximising their independence. All of our clients receive minimum of one hour’s visits and our Care Givers are not rushing around all day.

As Learning and Development Coordinator you will be proud to represent us and be an ambassador for our high quality services we provide and you will strongly want to be part of our organisation. Our offices are based in Milngavie and Busby, and your role will involve developing and delivering induction and ongoing training to our team of Caregivers

Your job will entail:

  • Ability to plan and deliver effective regulatory and mandatory training to all of our care staff and ability to deploy a range of motivational teaching methods to meet the needs of a broad range of learning styles.
  • Induction of CareGivers delivering our internal three day training course
  • Delivery of mandatory health and social care training on induction as well as annual update sessions.
  • Delivery of selected SSSC units to small groups of learners using Powerpoint presentations and training resources
  • Carry out Caregiver observations and one-to-one learning sessions at follow up visits
  • Assess learner competence and underpinning knowledge
  • Assist in any recruitment and training activity as required

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of training in the health and social care sector is desirable as is a recognised diploma or qualification in training or health and social care
  • Moving and handling competency
  • Experience within in an office and care related environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to multi task and work independently
  • Available to occasionally work evenings and weekends
  • Driver with access to own car

As the Live in Care Team Leader you will be commercially aware and your role will be to take operational responsibility for building a team of live in Caregivers and start client live in care packages. Your role will entail responsibility for creating and the ongoing expansion of our live in care operations.
