  • Live in Care Services – Team Leader

    Home Instead Senior Care Glasgow North are looking for a motivated individual to join our management team as a Live in Care Team Leader. This will be a fantastic opportunity for a person with a genuinely caring nature to join an established team making a positive difference in the lives of others and their local community. This will be a demanding yet rewarding role for someone looking for professional development.

    As an established office of the successful Home Instead Senior Care franchise we supply person centred and bespoke care services to our clients across the Greater Glasgow and surrounding areas.

    We are expanding our range of home care services to include Live in Care. As the Live in Care Team Leader you will be commercially aware and your role will be to take operational responsibility for building a team of live in Caregivers and start client live in care packages. Your role will entail responsibility for creating and the ongoing expansion of our live in care operations.

    The office is based in Milngavie , and your role will involve a mixture of office based commercial and administration work, care co-ordination and field work which can mean travelling across the territory therefore being a car driver is essential. Primarily you will be based in the office however due to the nature of the care setting environment you will need to be flexible in your approach to working patterns.

    We will require the suitable candidate to hold a minimum SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and have at least 3 years experience in the care sector at a supervisory or management level.

    Your job will entail:

    • Building a team of Live in Caregivers. This will involve advertising, interviewing and hiring suitable Live in Caregivers
    • Networking in the community and with other care professionals to raise awareness of our Live in Care Service
    • Partaking in care consultation, service reviews and completing client support plans
    • Ongoing Staff supervisions and Client QA’s

    Person Specification

    • Car Driver and have access to own vehicle
    • Previous experience in a care setting supervisory or managerial role
    • Good commercial awareness
    • Good IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office

    Required Qualifications

    • 3+ years experience in a care environment
    • Experience of Moving and Handling techniques
    • Experience of dealing with elderly clients with complex needs
    • Experience of Dementia Care preferred
    • Experience with scheduling (preferred) and excellent PC skills
    • Effective written and verbal communication
    • Ability to multi task and work independently
    • Available to do on call as required
    • Minimum SVQ Health and Social Care Level 3
    • Complex elderly care experience (to include stand aids, hoists, catheter care)
    • Must have full clean driving licence and own car.

    We provide person centred and bespoke services to our clients across the East Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire. We strive to deliver the highest standards of support and change peoples lives for the better, maximising their independence. All of our clients receive minimum of one hour’s visits and our Care Givers are not rushing around all day.

    As Learning and Development Coordinator you will be proud to represent us and be an ambassador for our high quality services we provide and you will strongly want to be part of our organisation. Our offices are based in Milngavie and Busby, and your role will involve developing and delivering induction and ongoing training to our team of Caregivers

    Your job will entail:

    • Ability to plan and deliver effective regulatory and mandatory training to all of our care staff and ability to deploy a range of motivational teaching methods to meet the needs of a broad range of learning styles.
    • Induction of CareGivers delivering our internal three day training course
    • Delivery of mandatory health and social care training on induction as well as annual update sessions.
    • Delivery of selected SSSC units to small groups of learners using Powerpoint presentations and training resources
    • Carry out Caregiver observations and one-to-one learning sessions at follow up visits
    • Assess learner competence and underpinning knowledge
    • Assist in any recruitment and training activity as required

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Experience of training in the health and social care sector is desirable as is a recognised diploma or qualification in training or health and social care
    • Moving and handling competency
    • Experience within in an office and care related environment

    Our office in Glasgow will shortly be commencing the provision of live-in care packages. Thus we are seeking to recruit and retain a bank of Live in Caregivers.

    Don’t worry if you don’t have care sector experience, we have extensive training and on-going development opportunities that will enable to you deliver our special brand of relationship-led care.

    You will be required to live in the home of clients and undertake a range of duties including providing companionship, preparing meals, medication assistance, personal care, light housework and social activities. Each client is different and will have different requirements hence we carefully match Caregivers to clients. You will be provided with 24/7 support from our office team

    Our clients are based in Central Scotland and we will work shift patterns on a rotating week on/week off basis where you live with the client in their home for your week on, and for your week off you go back to your own place of living,

    This is a LIVE-IN position, Rotas will be flexible.
