The Farnborough, Farnham and Fleet Team
The office care team
We're all very proud of the contribution each of us makes to change the face of ageing in our local community. We work well as a team which was recognised when we were awarded a rare Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission. It's so rewarding to know that we're making a difference. We also work hard to support our CAREGiver team who are out there supporting our clients every day.
I am Claire Percy, Director of Care at Home Instead Farnborough Farnham Fleet. I feel privileged to speak with prospective clients, and their family members. Our specialist model of care means we do not take over, or take away a person's independence - and I am keen to reassure anyone who may be considering care from us, that we are here to assist, but predominantly to give our clients control over their own needs and preferences.
I run Home Instead with the invaluable help our fantastic office and CAREGiver team whose compassion, training and reliability means we are able to deliver the highest quality care. This quality was recognised when we were one of just five finalists for a nation specialist care award, and also when the Care Quality Commission awarded our service an 'Outstanding' rating following our last inspection.
I very much enjoy meeting and building relationships with local people and organisations and I am proud to be able to talk about how we are different in so many ways - how we meet each client personally; how we choose CAREGivers who are passionate about quality of care; how our CAREGivers receive on-going training; the importance we place on continuity of care; and how we focus on our clients' needs and those of their families.
It all begins with the type of individual we recruit to care for our clients - compassion is undoubtedly more important than experience, as we want to train the right people. What really matters to me is ensuring the best possible care is made available for those in our community. If we can assist you or your loved one, please contact us.
My name is Bill Percy and I am a Director at Home Instead Senior Care Farnborough Farnham Fleet. Part of my role is to train our new CAREGivers who are carefully selected, and then trained to be part of our truly 'Outstanding' team.
When my mother Audrey was diagnosed with dementia, the carers did their best, but only had time to help Audrey with basic tasks. There was no time to offer the time and companionship that is so valuable for an older person, many of whom may live alone.
My wife Claire and I saw that there is a ‘right’ way of offering care, and we’re committed to the unique service Home Instead Senior Care offers. It shows that with the right approach, an older person can maintain their independence and quality of life.
Hi I’m Gill. I’m both Care Manager and Registered Manager and am about to complete my Level 5 in Health and Social Care which will give me the tools to manage my team and further promote good practice within Home Instead.
I joined Home Instead in the summer of 2012 as a CAREGiver, then became a member of the office team later that year. I have worked as both Care Manager, and Recruitment and Retention Manager. As Recruitment Manager I enjoyed telling candidates about the rewards of working for Home Instead, no two days are the same and it’s so much more than a job. When you have regular clients you look forward to seeing them and the time you spend with them may be the best part of their day and yours.
Staff retention is a big part of Home Instead, and we’re proud of the support we give to our CAREGivers. We brief our CAREGivers before we personally introduce them to their clients. We’re always here to listen to our CAREGivers and value them as we do our clients.
Hi my name is Scarlett and I am Care Administrator at Home Instead. I enjoy how varied my day to day role working alongside the Care Manager can be, from answering queries and updating care plans, to meeting new clients and finding out about their needs and their interesting lives.
I spent five years working as a housekeeper so this role was a big and exciting change for me. I spend my free time writing short stories and entering competitions, I’ve won all sorts from a box of pretzels to a 3 day cruise!
Hi I’m Alannah. My role is Compliance Administrator. I work alongside our Care Quality Supervisors, arranging regular client reviews and ensuring we're all compliant with legislation.
It's lovely getting to know our CAREGivers and our clients through the work that I do.
I am currently studying counselling in my spare time and I have completed both my Level 1 and 2 in counselling skills which are awarded by the CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body). I plan to continue studying and hopefully achieve my degree in Counselling over the next few years.
My name is Karen and I'm Training and Recruitment Administrator. My role is to help our new CAREGivers learn about Home Instead’s unique service and person centered ethos. Home Instead is passionate about supporting CAREGivers and one of the ways we do this is by providing ongoing training. My part-time role is interesting and rewarding because I am working with CAREGivers who genuinely care about what they do. In my free time I enjoy all things creative and especially like to paint and draw.
I'm Stuart and am responsible for scheduling all our client visits and ensuring everyone is in the right place at the right time! I have ten years experience working in the care sector, and have joined Home instead in April 2016. I have personally found working for Home instead to be very different from any other care organisations I have worked for in the past. Home Instead really does put clients and CAREGivers first. I am enjoying my role as Scheduler as I feel I am making make a real difference to people’s lives here. I could not ask for a more supportive and friendly Team.
Andrea Carter is a Senior CAREGiver and has been with Home Instead since 2012. She has vast experience of the many conditions our clients may be living with. She has also been a point of contact to advise our Caregiver Team. Andrea has some on-call responsibilities, and also assists in training our new Caregivers.
Noel Hume is responsible for conducting visits to clients (and clients' family members where appropriate) to ask how they are finding our service. Supported by the office team, Noel sees our clients in person as required, to see if any changes to the service are needed - and to find out if our CAREGivers can assist with anything new! Noel is also a Home Instead CAREGiver.
Our fantastic CAREGiver team delivers thousands of hours of care each month. Each and every one of them is special, with ages ranging from 21 to 70. We match our CAREGivers to our clients, whose ages start at age 18 but go up to 100!
When someone says they would like to be a CAREGiver with us, we know it takes a certain type of person who wants to make a difference to someone's life, to be successful in this role. So, to us a compassionate nature and excellent training is much more important than lots of care experience.
Thank you to all our wonderful CAREGivers who really are changing the face of ageing.
Gulliver is a Dogue de Bordeaux with a specific role within Home Instead. As you can see, he is thoughtfully planning his day carefully. Daily responsibilities include walking, eating and sleeping, all of which he performs to a high standard. His ambition is to do more of the above.
Jess is a wonder, she’s marvellous. We couldn’t be more pleased and can’t imagine life without her.
Mr R, Client, Farnham
