East Devon Radio Welcomes Home Instead

In the latest conversation with Sunday morning East Devon Radio host, Howard James, our Owner/Directors Vanessa and Mark McGlade, had a perfect opportunity to sing the praises of the team and invite others to join the Home Instead family.

Howard, Vanessa and Mark covered a host of topics, from how sheer determination and dedication has seen companies such as Home Instead not only survive but thrive, during what has been a hugely challenging time for all care providers, to the rigours of CQC inspection.  They discussed the diversity of their team, and how they are looking to the future with optimism and introducing their new, Career Pathway scheme. In this initiative, team members can choose to direct their career in line with their own time frames, goals and ambitions, gaining fully supported qualifications along the way.

Vanessa and Mark also spoke of how over 50% of their current office-based support team started their careers as community CAREGivers with the company, before building their skillset and diversifying into the support side of the organisation.

Opportunity and learning are two factors that the leadership team are always keen to foster, a testament to this has been the creation of the new Clyst St Mary Training and Development Centre, which serves our 130+ team members, from the two territories in our care: Exeter & East Devon and also Mid Devon & Blackdown Hills. This facility is not only home to the award-winning and paid* Recruitment Training Programme supporting all new recruits, it will also be a base for those wishing to study recognised care, management, and leadership Awards and RQF Diploma qualifications.

Gaining highly regarded skills not only benefits the valued clients of Home Instead, through the quality of care they receive, but also the CAREGiver concerned, as they are then eligible for promotion and further increases in pay. For us at Home Instead, investment in our team members is a win, win!
