About Us

Welcome to Home Instead Senior Care Durham.

Providing the right care, at the right time, in the right way to meet your needs.

Home Instead Senior Care is a provider of award winning, high quality home care services in Durham, Chester le Street, Washington, Birtley, Houghton le Spring and surrounding areas and villages.

Home Instead Senior Care provides non-medical personalised support and companionship for older people who want to stay independent within their own home for as long as possible and maintain their quality of life.

We pride ourselves on tailoring our services to meet the exact requirements of our Clients, giving peace of mind to families that their loved ones will be cared for with compassion and dignity.

CAREGivers are carefully matched with Clients, so that a deep and trusting relationship can be built with a familiar person, which is especially important for those with dementia or Alzheimer’s.

CAREGivers are well trained individuals who have a genuine passion for caring; they undergo extensive back ground checks and only work with one or two Clients so they can visit at the time the Client requires.

Clients or their families can contact us directly, they may pay for the care themselves or be in receipt of a direct payment or individual budget, or they may be referred by health professionals or support agencies.

We are always available to guide you, and to give advice and support during your decision making, we can visit you or your family at home or you can call in to the office for a cup of tea and an informal chat.

Our services are exclusively tailored to the needs of each individual; some of the services we can  offer are shopping trips, homemade meals, support to medical appointments, social visits, support with bathing and dressing, medication prompts and companionship, this will be done in a motivating, encouraging and supportive way, to maintain independence.

Trudi says “It is crucial to me that the people we support are encouraged and supported to make decisions, based on informed choices, treated with compassion and respect, motivated and encouraged to achieve their full potential and maintain their independence, and people should feel valued and a part of their local community and be able to live within their own home and with the appropriate level of support”.
