‘Keeping Warm and Well’ Event Success
Home Instead Senior Care in Crewe hosted a ‘Keeping Warm and Well Event’ in partnership with Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, Cheshire Constabulary, and Everybody Sport & Recreation earlier this month to help older people discover the services available in the community helping them to live safely and comfortably in their own homes during the winter months.
The event, which took place at St Mary’s Church Hall in Nantwich provided older people and their families with free advice and information about the services available to them in their local area. Some of the services shared at the event included: home safety checks, fire alarm checks, Nordic walking taster sessions were on offer, health checks, home safety demonstrations and information about a Nominated Neighbourhood Scheme.
Organiser behind the information event, Dawn Sime of Home Instead in Crewe, explained, “Events like these are so important because many older people and their families struggle to know where to turn to for support and advice, especially so when a crisis hits. There were a number of experts from local organisations on hand such as Cheshire Fire and Rescue and Cheshire Constabulary to offer advice on an assortment of topics about keeping warm and well over the winter months.”
Home Instead Senior Care specialises in providing older people with non-medical care, enabling them to remain in their own homes.
