About Home Instead Cleveland
Welcome to Home Instead Senior Care Cleveland.
We know it can be overwhelming wondering where to start when first considering care for your loved one.
We know what a challenging decision it can be in choosing which care agency to trust with looking after your relatives.
We know most elderly people wish to remain in their own homes where they feel most comfortable, happiest and safe, with surroundings that remind them of who they are and where they belong, surrounded by their life time of memories.
Why shouldn’t they be free to stay at home for as long as they can, even if age means that they can no longer look after themselves as they once could?
Why shouldn’t you be able to enjoy the freedom to relax in the knowledge that your family member is in the best hands you could have possibly chosen – giving you ‘priceless’ peace of mind?
Now that you have found Home Instead in Cleveland, we are confident that you will be so happy with our award winning home care offering, there will be no need for you to look anywhere else and will choose to trust us implicitly with the continuing care of your loved one. We don’t believe we have any competition as no one else provides the service we do.
We are passionate about providing a care service of exceptional quality for elderly people in their own homes, or wherever they reside, in the Cleveland area. We are viewed as a quality alternative to a nursing home or a residential care home though we do provide companionship for people living in care homes too. We are very proud of our local reputation for providing an excellent service and we will never compromise our standards.
Nationally, for the last 4 years, we have been rated as the UK’s Number 1 Care Company by Laing & Buisson (UK Care provider specialist researchers) and we are also rated as the best elderly care provider by the Care Quality Commission when it comes to meeting the criteria they expect for all home care providers. You can’t get any better than that!
All support is bespoke and individually planned for each client. Visits are not rushed, Home Instead understands the importance of spending time supporting clients on a social and emotional level. This enables CAREGivers to form a close relationship with their clients, providing a person centred care service which is built round the requirements of each individual. This can vary from assistance with shopping trips, companionship, escorting to appointments or social engagements as well as home help, meal preparation, personal care, support with medication and much, much more. CAREGivers will encourage, stimulate and assist clients in a variety of day to day activities to maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.
Home Instead recognises that some clients have more specialist needs and so have invested heavily in training programmes for staff in many areas but especially in supporting people living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.
Our services are available whenever you need them and we are contactable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to discuss any requests you may have. Our office is always open, our employees friendly, and you are more than welcome to pay us a visit at any time.
Our clients include individuals who have come to us themselves; older children who have contacted us on behalf of their parents or relatives; people who receive direct payments from the local authority and clients referred to us by local health care professionals, such as Hospital staff, Doctors District nurses and Community Matrons etc. Word is spreading about what we do and our clients are referring their own friends too!
So what else sets us apart from the rest?
- We turn up on time, every time, when your parent(s) needs us!
- We do not provide ‘care’ in 15 minute or half hour slots - with us it is a minimum of one hour.
- We offer continuity of care by allocating the same ‘matched’ CAREGiver to our clients, which ensures that a relationship can be developed and dignity is maintained. The same CAREGiver attends as much as possible and no one will visit who hasn’t been previously introduced – we would never send a stranger.
- Our CAREGivers do not wear uniforms and so, to everyone else, look just like family or friends who are visiting, so preserving dignity.
- The average age of our CAREGivers is almost 50 and are specially selected people who want to provide companionship to elderly people with compassion and empathy. We pay and treat our staff very well.
- ALL of our staff are fully DBS/CRB checked and we require six (yes, 6!) references which are all professionally checked and validated by Directors.
Above all, we only employ CAREGivers who we would allow to look after our own family members.
So who are we?
Home Instead Cleveland is owned by Gavin Morrigan and Michelle Fairless - ‘real life’ partners as well as Home Instead business partners. Together they have had successful careers providing high quality, reliable and dependable services with well regarded companies like IBM; Allied Dunbar; Coca Cola Schweppes, Zurich and the NHS.
Unfortunately, Michelle had some very heart-felt experiences of seeing close, loved ones needing personal care and could only find poor ‘care’ on offer, if at all to help support her family. With competing demands she couldn’t be there all the time and she questioned why more elderly people could not be supported for longer in their own homes, when they needed it and by someone they knew that also cared for them as an individual.
Gavin, by chance, at a conference heard a presentation about the Home Instead model for elderly care; it struck a chord with his own beliefs for ethical business and instantly knew there was a unique opportunity to satisfy Michelle’s desire to deliver the highest quality care to people in their own homes with the utmost dignity and respect.
Now, with a single passion for providing outstanding elderly care, Michelle and Gavin decided to open an office close to their home in order to help members of their local community.
