Care Professional of the Year finalists announced
Every day we’re thankful to our fantastic Care Professionals for working tirelessly to help our clients live well at home. Our Care Professional of the Year award shows some extra appreciation when clients go the extra mile, and we’re excited to announce this year’s three finalists. They are:
- Paula McCarthy, Home Instead Chingford
- Mick King, Home Instead Cleveland
- Lesley Hunter, Home Instead South East Northumberland.
There’s a whole range of stories about these three finalists that we were touched by. One came to the rescue when their client was in a crisis. Another supported her client who lives with dementia and was recovering after the devastating loss of her husband. Another has carried out charity fundraising for people receiving cancer treatment. Each one of them has made a difference in their own way, but one thing they have in common is their sheer commitment to those they care for.
Martin Jones, CEO of Home Instead UK, says: “It was tough creating a shortlist from our many compassionate Care Professionals, not least because there are so many inspirational stories of them making a difference. And let’s not forget how well the care sector has risen to the challenges of the pandemic; adapting to new guidance and emotionally supporting clients at such an anxious time is no mean feat. It’s important that we keep on celebrating their hard work and dedication.
“I’d like to congratulate the three finalists of our Care Professional of the Year, and I look forward to celebrating the winner. This is also an opportunity for me to thank each one of our Care Professionals – you all make a difference, and I am proud of you all.”
Our Care Professional of the Year will be crowned in the coming weeks at a special lunch in London, where the finalists will be joined by a special guest.
