Mike and Jane jointly own the Home Instead business in Cambridge. They ran another successful business for 12 years and developed a reputation for integrity and meeting client’s expectations, while recruiting high quality people and helping them deliver great service.

Mike’s role in Home Instead is to ensure all the staff enjoy an environment in which they can deliver the high care standards we set.  Mike is also responsible for liaising with the outside world to create an awareness of what we do.

Jane manages the finances, making sure clients are invoiced correctly and our staff receive their pay accurately and on time.

Karen is the first point of face to face contact many of our clients have with Home Intsead. Karen's role is to create bespoke care plans for each of our clients, based on what they tell us they want. Karen takes time to understand each individual and their own circumstances, only then recommending a service that suits them on their terms.


Karen managed the Cambridge branch of BNA, so is used to working in a quality environment to suit clients.


Karen also manages the Caregiver and office team, so has a complete overview of the unique way in which Home Instead meets our clients' needs and aspirations.  Home Instead offers companionship, help around the home, personal care and specialist dementia care in and around Cambridge.  Karen is the starting point for families looking to preserve independent lives on their own terms - please call her if you'd like to discuss how Home Instead can help on 01480 495834.

CAREGiver Services Specialist & Office Manager - Alison Price

Alison lies at the heart of our office administration.  Raised in Sawston, she also knows the local area and city.

Alison supports Christine and the CAREGiver team with vital organisation of recruitment, training and development administration.

Alison’s attention to detail means that the office responds efficiently and effectively to the needs of our CAREGivers, allowing everyone to benefit from the care we provide.

CAREGiver Manager - Natalie Chandler

Natalie joined Home Instead with a wealth of experience in recruitment, resourcing and HR management gained with Kuehne & Nagel and Joules Clothing.  

Natalie's joined as our recruitment manager and soon moved into her current role as CAREGiver Manager.  In this role she is responsible for the full range of support and services for our CAREGivers, such as training, development and daily contact.  Natalie manages a team of trainers and CAREGiver Support to carry out the range of her responsibilities.  

Natalie is passionate about helping CAREGivers become happy and confident in their work, as well as giving them the opportunity to develop personally and professionally.

Client Services Coordinator - Emma Francis

Client Services Coordinator - Emma Francis

Emma joined Home Instead in 2015 after enjoying a successful role with another care company.  Her role in Home Instead is to represent the interests of our clients, ensuring that they receive the service they want and that it meets their needs, consistently and to a high standard.

Emma works closely with Elaine and Karen to ensure that the quality of the service is as good as it can be and that we can evidence it for CQC, internal compliance and most impotantly, our clients and their families.

And her surname is shared with the business owners, but no relation!

Client Services Specialist - Elaine Ward

Elaine was born and raised in Cambridge and knows the city, its people and has a real feel for the area.  Elaine supports Karen, our Care Manager and works closely with Emma, the Client Services Coordinator to ensure our clients are kept up-to-date, our service standards are constantly monitored and that bills & payments are accurate & on time.

As a former Chairperson of her village Pre-School, she knows the importance of local services and how Home Instead makes a difference by holding to its standards of high quality care, backed up by first class administration.

Care Coordination Manager - Karen Dixon

Care Coordination Manager - Karen Dixon

Karen's role lies at the heart of daily operations.  She is responsible for making sure that all our client visits are scheduled, that eveyone is briefed and there are no surprises.  Karen joined Home Instead after a successful period working with another care company, as well as other successful roles which required discipline and clear thinking.  

Karen works closely with the office client and CAREGiver teams to ensure that we deliver on our promise of high quality care, continuity of CAREGiver and timeliness.  

Karen's clear planning and structure allow her and Tami to enjoy a good relationship with clients and CAREGivers and also with client families, keeping them informed.

Assistant Care Coordinator - Christina Sherriff

Assistant Care Coordinator - Christina Sherriff

Christina works with Karen Dixon to schedule all our client visits and match CAREGivers and clients. Christina spent time with Anglian Water as a scheduler, covering routine call outs and emergencies, so is used to moving quickly to ensure people get assistance.

Christina has a key role, speaking to many of our clients, their families and all our CAREGivers daily.  Her cheerful approach and ability to handle pressing needs with sympathy and calm is very reassuring for all the people she deals with.

Accounts & Admin Specialist - Julie Morris

Accounts & Admin Specialist - Julie Morris

Julie joined the team in 2015 to look after the growing area of accounts and admin.  Julie carefully checks each visit after its completion to ensure that clients are fairly billed and CAREGivers paid for their work.  She also does all the month-end work to produce invoices and prepare the payroll.

Julie also plays an important part communicating with our clients and CAREGivers on the telephone, clarifying details and accounting for changes.

Julie has another part-time role with another customer-centric business, Waitrose and played a part in our successful launch of Be A Santa to a Senior in 2015 in St Ives.
