Hi, I'm John. I am delighted to introduce myself as the owner of Home Instead Bristol North. We provide services from Henleaze, Westbury-on-Trym and Stoke Bishop across our great city.
Having lived in Bristol for over 30 years, I founded this service to make a real difference in our community. Simply put, our goal is to 'change the face of ageing' by bringing joy to our clients and their families. We do this via companionship-centred care, encouraging, supporting and stimulating our clients so they can remain living independently in their own homes. Through personal experience, I understand the importance of great care at home and the worry of seeing a loved one not embracing life as much as possible.
My promise is to ensure that we deliver to you the level of care, service, reliability and joy that I'd like for my own family. Here's how we do this:
Companionship Centred Care. Central to our ethos is to bring joy to each individual client, by spending unrushed time with them - that may be by sharing stories and other interests, exploring current affairs, playing games and enjoying outings. We also offer support with our Home Help and Personal Care services.
Tailored and Flexible Support Plan. Our care plan consultation starts with a blank sheet of paper, and simply asks "how can we help". Our non-medical services typically include companionship, home help, personal care, transportation to appointments, outings, and medication reminders. We liaise closely with local health professionals and other agencies to ensure our services dovetail with theirs.
Continuity and Matching of CAREGivers. We carefully match the clients interests to those of our CAREGivers and we ensure continuity - the same CAREGivers will come in regularly, and we introduce our clients to their CAREGiver before our service begins, we would never send a stranger.
Longer Visits. All our visits are a minimum of one hour, this allows enough time for companionship, as well as any practical support that may be needed.
Prompt and Reliable. We'll be on time and we'll stay the agreed time (we don’t apply ‘tolerances’!). We use a system called 'IQ TimeCard' to ensure accuracy in all our records and invoices.
Thorough CAREGiver Selection and Training. We seek those with a real passion to bring joy to our clients, and then we deliver top quality induction training for three days. Thereafter, we shadow and support them, as well as providing ongoing training and professional development. This includes our unique City and Guilds accredited specialist training on Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Our clients come to us either by 'word of mouth' recommendations, or following searches by grown children or relatives who seek a tailored solution to their loved ones current needs. We are also pleased to work closely with the NHS, and local authority who issue direct payments to some clients.
