Christchurch is the 'Dementia Capital of the UK'!

Christchurch is the "dementia capital of the UK"

It was recorded in the local newspaper today that a new report has revealed that Christchurch is the "dementia capital of the UK."

It has been reported that the town has the highest prevalence of dementia per head of population with 28 cases per 1000 people. In total, there are some 2400 people in the constituency with dementia. The statistics were compiled by Alzheimer's Research UK.

It is therefore vitally important that we have good quality care services in the community to support individuals with dementia and that information on Dementia is available for others to understand the needs of those living with the disease in the community.

Home Instead Senior Care is committed to providing good quality care and is also carrying out activities within the community to raise awareness on dementia these activities are there to provide information and to signpost individuals to other relevant services which are available to give advice and practical support to the families for people who have had a a dementia diagnosis.

If you would like more information on upcoming activities please contact Carly or Charmaine on 01202 853197.
