I have personally experinenced how hard it can be to find a trusted and reliable source of care for a family member on the Fylde Coast.

For over 8 years, I helped my Mum look after my Dad at home, as his journey through dementia progressed.

We struggled to find quality and above all consistent care.

To have been able be develop trust and a genuine relationship with a CAREGiver or a small team of CAREGivers, would have made a huge difference to both my parents lives. After all it is allowing someone into your most private place, your home and often at one of the most stressful times in your life.

Therefore I genuinely feel proud of every CAREGiver we employ. We train every member of the team to a very high standard and my motto on recruitment is, 'If they wouldn't have been good enough for my Mum and Dad, then they aren't good enough for our team.'

I am the Care Manager of the Blackpool and Wyre Home Instead. I am responsible for making sure our service meets and exceeds expectations of the clients we care for in their own homes.

I personally meet every client in their home to ensure that we get to know them and can establish a relationship looking at what needs they have.  I look at each person as an individual and plan their care needs around them which includes not only meeting a clients physical needs but their emotional and social needs as well, after I have built up this relationship I can then match them with a CAREGiver that I feel they will be able to form a good relationship with and personally introduce them.

I feel passionately that I can help to make a difference to older people’s lives by ensuring we work in a person centred way which in turn can really enhance the quality of senior people’s lives.

Here at Home Instead Blackpool and Wyre  I am also a registered trainer so I can deliver the accredited training programmes to our CAREGivers .

I have worked here at Blackpool and Wyre Home Instead for 2 years I started working for Home Instead in early 2015 as a CAREGiver and found working with our clients very rewarding. 

My role in the office is to manage the schedules of our CAREgivers so that we can provide continuity to all of our clients. 

I also audit daily logs and other paperwork and ensure that we are delivering top quality care.

In addition to my office work, I work as a CAREgiver, visiting the same clients I have worked with since I started with the company.

I love working for Home Instead. It feels amazing to help improve the lives of our clients and their families.

We always make sure that the CAREGiver remains consistent so that a trust and friendship may develop.

We feel privileged to have such a great team of CAREGivers with us at Blackpool and Wyre Home Instead.

 

I have been using Home Instead for one hour care in the morning, for six months. My condition, which is severe arthritis in my shoulders, neck and arms, makes getting showered and dressed difficult as I can't pull anything over my head. Since having Home Instead to help me, I have had great improvement for the rest of the day. The CAREGivers I have are very good, and I like having continuity of CAREGivers, which for me is essential. I have formed a friendship with the two girls. I have full marks for everything your firm has done for me. Thank you.
