The Salford and Worsley Team
We are so lucky that Bev has chosen to work with Home Instead Salford - she is a busy lady and enjoys working as a school teacher during term time. Bev also wants to give something back to the older folk in her community. She loves to help and be supportive to everyone in her care, whether a child at school or a client in their own home. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful CAREGiving team here in Salford. Thank you Bev for choosing us.
Emma Newns has joined our team and is supporting Michelle, Susan and Jo within the office. During the past four years Emma has enjoyed delivering care to seniors in our local community. Emma has come to us very highly recommended, by more than one person, who has been in receipt of her care. Emma is eager to learn more about the office and administrative side of the business but at the same time she wants to support our CAREGivers and continue to supply personal care and companionship in the community.
Thank you Emma for choosing to work with us and we know that you will be a great addition to our ever increasing team.
Home Instead Salford's latest recruit - we welcome Sandra to our team. Sandra has been a carer for most of her career and we are proud to announce that she has become a CAREGiver for our seniors in Salford. Sandra has a fantastic sense of humour and we always look forward to her popping in the office - she never leaves without spreading a smile.
I am Jo Shaughnessy, co-founder of Home Instead Senior Care, Salford.
When I was helping Susan to find care and support for her mother in 2015 we were introduced to Home Instead. Unfortunately, at that time Home Instead Senior Care did not have an office in Salford. We were inspired by the ethos and professionalism of Home Instead and recognised that there was a real need for this type of home care in our home town.
I am a professional accountant with a wide breadth of experience working closely with small and medium enterprises (SMEs). My career to date has included 16 years in professional practice, with a further 8 years as a Financial Consultant and Finance Director. My passion is producing relevant, concise information to provide decision support, feedback and help formulate strategy and discussion.
However, my other passion is people and when we talked to Home Instead National Office about the ethos and goals of the company, we quickly realised that Home Instead Senior Care was a company that we would be proud to be part of and represent.
We believe that together with the other 170+ Home Instead Senior Care offices throughout the U.K. we can, and we will change the face of ageing. With four of our offices already receiving ‘outstanding’ from CQC and Home Instead Senior Care receiving The Queen’s Award for Innovation in 2016, we are confident about the future.
A huge welcome to Jill who has successfully completed induction and training. Jill is well known in our community as she has spent several years in Salford as a Community Nurse. Although she has taken early retirement she still wants to be an active member of the community. Jill would like to continue to care for people in their own homes, where they can continue to thrive with support. Jill’s hobbies are many including: reading, baking, knitting, singing, badminton, upholstery, dancing – to mention just a few!! We are thrilled that Jill had chosen Home Instead Salford and we look forward to working with her.
A huge welcome to Sue, a fabulous lady who has enjoyed nursing in the community for many years. Latterly, Sue spent most of her time in local schools as a school nurse and she worked with and supervised a great team of people. Sue has decided to join Home Instead after her summer holidays and we are cock-a-hoop she has chosen us. Home Instead, Salford is recruiting an amazing team of like minded people who want to put something 'back' into our fantastic community.
Pat was our very first CAREGiver graduate and she has formed a lovely relationship with her client. Pat remains cheerful at all times and she has a lovely, kind and calming personality. We are very lucky to have her on our team.
My name is Michelle Corcoran and I am the Registered Care Manager at Home Instead Salford.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself! Since being a small child I have always wanted to work with people. I am very pleased to say that I have now worked in the Health and Social Care Industry in excess of twenty-five years.
Working with older adults has always been close to my heart as I am keen to ensure the quality of care that is so much deserved continues to be delivered.
I have also been busy achieving a number of qualifications over the years such as the Registered Managers Award, Practice Educators Award and more recently a Degree in Social Work which I completed in 2011.
I feel privileged at this stage of my career to have found and been accepted by Home Instead in Salford. I believe that the quality of work expected and achieved by the company is exceptional. All clients are in receipt of a truly outstanding service which is proven by the fact that all Home Instead offices are achieving either ‘good’ or ’outstanding’ ratings when inspected by the Care Quality Commission.
I am delighted to be part of this wonderful company and I am looking forward to working with and caring for the good people of Salford and Worsley. Please call should you wish to know more about Home Instead and the services we offer!
Our Youngest Team Member - Pip
We are very lucky to have our very own Home Instead dog called Pip. An extremely loving and caring two year old working Labrador. Pip dreams about being a CAREGiver. And also about squirrels....
Should you decide to visit our offices, and hopefully you will, Pip may be here to greet you. A friendly face, a wagging tail, totally non-judgemental and interested in every word you say. There is every chance that if she is asked to visit you or your loved ones at home she may say ‘yes please!’
Young Pip is on the left, and as you can see, she loves to enjoy long walks in Worsley Woods with her sister and best friend Milly, who also lives close by!
My name is Susan Robinson and I am the owner of Home Instead Salford and Worsley. I have lived and worked in Salford all my life and I am immensely proud to be part of this vibrant and ever changing city.
Although I have owned and managed two exciting businesses in the past, more recently I have volunteered and worked in several primary schools in Salford. A large proportion of my time involved developing relationships between school, families and the wider community. My passion for community development grew very quickly and I had no intention of changing my career path.
However, I needed some support for my mum when we were going on holiday in August 2015. It was at this time that I was introduced to Home Instead Senior Care. I was amazed at the culture and ethos of the company. Love, care and compassion are at the heart of the Home Instead philosophy. When I realised that there was an opportunity in Salford to support individuals in their own homes, where they are most happy and comfortable, I grabbed it with both hands.
A very good company with a brilliant service, that is second to none.CAREGiver
It is even better than what the name suggests (Home Instead), you receive a better service than your own family can provide you. Staff are very professional and well trained. Management is excellent and helpful.
