Durham does the double with second outstanding rating
We are delighted to announce that our Durham office has been rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the second time in a row – a simply fantastic achievement.
This latest success comes two years after their first outstanding rating, and is all the more impressive considering that only two per cent of adult social care providers have been rated outstanding since the Ofsted-style inspections were implemented in 2015.
This local office is owned and run by Trudi Jameson who, along with her fantastic team, received glowing praise from clients and relatives alike when they spoke to the inspectors who heard of CAREGivers described as ‘lifesavers’ and ‘living angels’.
It describes how one member of staff cancelled her holiday after realising her client’s other regular CAREGiver was off sick. She told inspectors that the client, who suffers from dementia, ‘needed continuity much more than I needed a trip away’.
Comments from relatives included ‘they take the initiative and are massively helpful’, ‘just brilliant’, and ‘they are lifesavers really’.
Inspectors were also shown a note from a client which read: “Thank you for being part of our lives. I thank god from the first day I met you that he sent us our own living angel.”
The team in Durham was also commended for its work in dementia care, which includes hosting a monthly memory café, and its particular emphasis on client safety.
Owner Trudi Jameson said: “All our staff work incredibly hard to support their clients in every aspect of their lives, so we are thrilled to have been once again rated outstanding.”
Martin Jones, managing director at Home Instead, added: “To be rated outstanding once is amazing but to manage it twice is really special. We would like to offer our heartiest congratulations to Trudi and her operations manager Annette Connor on this latest success.”
