At-home care company Home Instead Senior Care York held a fun fuelled, family-friendly evening of fundraising, barn-storming and Ceilidh dancing at the English Martyr’s Hall on the 21st January which raised over £1200 for Age UK York.
Home Instead owner Luke Norbury visited Age UK York on Walmgate to present the team with a cheque for £1291.20 raised by over 100 people who attended the event.
As a provider of at-home care for older people in and around York, Home Instead owner Luke Norbury is as passionate about raising money for Age UK York as he is about providing first class home care for the people of York.
Luke comments: “A fantastic evening was had by all and I would like to thank everyone who came along to the event and made it such a resounding success. The band, Celtic Blend, were fantastic and got everyone up and dancing and generally having a good time, which is what it was all about. I am very thankful for everyone’s donations and support, in particular the band and Keith Miller of the Cooking Rooms who served up haggis, neeps and tatties to the crowd. As it was such a success, we are even thinking of making the event an annual feature of our fundraising calendar.”
Age UK York CEO Sally Hutchinson comments, “Luke and the Home Instead team did fantastically well organising such a successful event and we are really grateful for all their hard work. The evening was great, and we are so pleased to accept this generous donation which will go towards our continuing work to help and support older people in the local community.”
