Managing Director - Phil Eckersley

Managing Director - Phil Eckersley

As a family, we brought Home Instead to Wigan because of our own personal experiences of care. We saw a real need for a quality at-home care service for elderly people in the area, that treated people with dignity and worked around what they wanted as well as their immediate needs. I resigned from my previous employment in Commercial Management to become a Home Instead Senior Care franchise owner as I wanted to help change the way in which care is provided and make a real positive impact to the quality of life of the local people in Wigan.

I am extremely happy and appreciative that I have the opportunity to work within the local community in the Wigan Borough, meeting some fantastic people and helping the elderly in the community to maintain their independence with personalised and holistic care in their own homes. We have a great team of enthusiastic, compassionate and nurturing CAREGivers who encourage, stimulate and assist our clients with an array of varied activities, from companionship and home help to personal care. If you have any enquiries about our service, you will be supported by our team here in Pemberton throughout your journey - we are always here to help.

Registered Care Manager - Emma Newby

Emma has worked in the care field for over 20 years. Emma started working in the care sector at a residential home on the Wirral at the age of sixteen and continued to work in care throughout college until she secured a post within the office team.  She started her career initially as a care co-ordinator, before being promoted to care manager in 2006.  Over the years, Emma has seen the way other care and support companies operate and believes that Home Instead is the best of the best and is proud to be an employee of the organisation.

Having seen what can happen to clients in the system, Emma has experienced all different types and levels of care, she is able to recognise bad practice and ensure that only the very best quality of service is provided to our clients. Emma has a wealth of experience and knowledge in caring for older people as well as working with learning disability groups and mental health individuals.  In her spare time Emma enjoys supporting a variety of charities and spending time with her husband and dogs.

Staff Co-ordinator - Diane Delooze

Staff Co-ordinator - Diane Delooze

Diane worked as a CAREGiver for a number of years before she made the jump from the care team to the office team as a staff co-ordintaor.  Diane joined Home Instead in August 2012.

As the staff co-ordinator, Diane is responsible for ensuring that all of our Clients are allocated their ideal companion to meet their needs. Whether this is companionship, home help, personal care or a combination of these, matching the right CAREGiver is one of the most important part of her responsibilities.  As well as matching our clients with CAREGiver skills, Diane also takes into account suitable personalities based on feedback from the care management team.

Once CAREGiver suitability has been established she makes sure that the appropriate traveling time between visits has been allowed and ensures that the CAREGivers arrive on time and stay the full length of time.  Another key aspect of her role is to ensure all of our CAREGivers have appropriate hours of work to match their availability whilst keeping their travelling time down to a minimum. This is achieved by keeping CAREGivers as local as possible to their home.
