Thank you for so much for my carer Jody, she arrived promptly and at such short notice, she did everything for me apart from breathe.- Doreen, Northwood
I was so pleased with how responsive my mother was to you yesterday, you will not know what a change that was because we have been trying for more than a year to get her to accept help. You did an amazing job.- Mrs B – Stanmore
We were using Home Instead once a week for companionship. Unfortunately an emergency arose when my mother suffered a sudden and serious illness. We telephoned Home Instead who immediately responded and help soon arrived. The carer stayed all day and did all she could to make her as comfortable as possible. Finally at 11.00 pm my mother was admitted to hospital, but the carer continued to stay to clean and launder everything before leaving. After a two week hospital stay we were then able to arrange with Home Instead twenty four hour care until my mother was back on her feet and able to cope. We are so grateful to Home Instead for responding so quickly and for giving our 94 year old mother gentle and sympathetic care when it was so desperately needed.- Mr S – Hatch End
A year ago, my 95 year old mother went into a Residential Care Home, where she was most unhappy. She only stayed in for 2 weeks before I took her out, and then I had to make provision for some sort of care. I was recommended to Home instead by the Warden of my mother’s Sheltered Accommodation. I cannot speak highly enough of Amber Morris and her team at Home Instead in Watford. They are always at the end of the phone for advice any time of day (and probably night, although I have never tried!). All the carers without exception give her exceptional care, and nothing seems to be too much trouble. As well as looking after my mother’s needs, they clean her flat and do odd bits of shopping. She is incapable of doing much for herself, which includes washing, getting dressed, and preparing any food or drinks. My mother really looks forward to their visits and without them she probably would not be here today, or certainly back into a Care Home. - Mrs VH - Denham
I discovered Home Instead eighteen months ago when my ageing parents ran into trouble. They have lived in Northwood for years and for many years, in their retirement, helped at Mount Vernon Hospital doing different types of voluntary work. Then mummy was hit ten years ago, by a deep anxiety depression and was unable to cook, or to go out or to look after herself. My father cared brilliantly for many years but he himself was taken ill two years ago and then I was in trouble. Home Instead have been my life line. I live in Cambridge and travelling to and fro to Northwood has been difficult. The day I spoke to Amber and met her at mummy and daddy’s flat, a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders and she has continued to support me ever since. Her various carers have been invaluable, helping to look after my father until he died, at home, last summer and then continuing in their care for my mother. They have worked really hard and have shown enormous compassion in what has been, at times, a very difficult situation. I have nothing but praise for Amber and her team, without them I have no idea what I would have done and I would wholeheartedly recommend them.- Mrs JM - Cambridge
I would like to express my appreciation for the companionship service provided by Liz over the past few weeks. She made every effort to get to know Joan, to find out her interests, and to keep her occupied and secure. Liz was unfailingly kind and attentive, and Michael and I had full confidence in her. I would recommend your firm to others looking for senior care.- Mr M - Croxley Green
