Elderly care provision has featured strongly in the media of late, regrettably more often than not in a negative way.

The recent inquiry by the Equality and Human Rights Commission investigated how well the over 65’s who receive homecare are cared for in England. The full report is due to be published in November 2011, however the enquiry found that there are "major problems" in the home care system. The report highlighted cases of people being left in bed for 17 hours, or more, between care visits and a failure to wash people properly or regularly – the failings of providers in many cases are so acute that the report considers their human rights are being overlooked.

Furthermore, the Commission says it has uncovered worrying cases of neglect and examples of lack of respect for older people's privacy and dignity. The Commission also finds that short visits regularly result in staff having to rush tasks like washing and dressing, which frustrates both the elderly people and care staff.

Clients of Home Instead Senior Care Warwickshire and their families can be assured our care provision is delivered to the highest standard. All staff follow a structured training programme and adhere to the company’s strict policies including obtaining six references. This sets us apart from other providers.

We always commit to:

Providing quality visits – The minimum time spent with any client is one hour in order that we can deliver the highest quality care and companionship service.

Arriving on time – We agree with our clients the best time for them to receive a visit and allow sufficient time to ensure that the time schedule is met.

Our Caregivers stay for the full time agreed – One hour of care means a full 60 minutes and no less. We travel to our clients in our time and ensure that there is sufficient time between our Caregivers appointments to allow for any unexpected needs that could arise which may mean a longer visit.

Consistency of caregivers – We always aim to allocate the same caregivers to a client so they get to know each other and build a long term, valuable relationship.

A more meaningful service – We work with our clients and families to complete a very personal care plan specifically tailored to each client’s requirements. This approach is beyond a pure task based service and is intended to help improve our clients’ quality of life and assist them to stay at home for a longer period of time.

We are passionate about changing the way home care is delivered in the UK by providing quality care that really does make a difference to people’s lives.
